Zeki’s mother, affectionately known as Ma or Momma, is a formidable and respected figure among the Grimalkin. She rose to prominence within the Mantis Cartel, where she now serves as second-in-command.

Though the Grimalkin culture emphasizes independence, cutting ties between parents and offspring once they’re weaned, Ma quietly defies tradition by maintaining a hidden connection with Zeki. Her letters, filled with warmth and encouragement, reveal a mother who is fiercely proud of her son’s resilience and cleverness, even if her circumstances prevent her from openly expressing it.
