Since build 0.184 the market has a monthly rhythm: it returns to the Fairgrounds every 4 weeks and stays about a week. Other events can interrupt that schedule (Luna New Year is a Maji Market of its own). Kenli visits your plot when it opens. Dates are the wiki's timetable, plus any week players saw open in the game that it missed; Palia Pal's Home screen shows the live countdown and a banner during the market week.

Opening hours

During a market the Fairgrounds are open :45 to :07:30 past every real hour.

The vendors, registers and games are open from 6:00 PM to 3:00 AM Palia time. A Palia day lasts one real hour, so that's the same stretch of every real hour, all day long; outside it you can still walk the grounds and fish.

Maji Market Tickets

Maji Market Tickets are a limited-time currency in Palia which you can earn from the Maji Market event. They are the market's currency: everything the ticket vendors sell is priced in them, and anything you don't spend keeps until the next market.

How to earn them

  • Chapaa Chase: Every Chapaa the Player delivers will award 5 Maji Market Tickets, and all players are awarded a Group Bonus of 2 Maji Market Tickets per Chapaa caught during the chase. Tickets can be exchanged for rewards at Chapaa Chase Prizes, or any of the other Maji Market shops.
  • Pop-A-Chapaa: Every night at 10:00 p.m. Palia time, chapaa balloons rise up from the waters near the Maji Market docks. Players can shoot the balloons with arrows to earn Maji Market Tickets. Once the timer is up, each player receives bonus tickets based on the total tickets earned by all participants in the server (30% of the collective amount). Balloons pay 1 (Simple Chapaa Balloon), 5 (Striped Chapaa Balloon), 30 (Azure Chapaa Balloon) tickets.
  • Stamp cards: 12,400 tickets across the 12 cards, plus exclusive decor.
  • Hidden treasure chests: 6 chests with 150–200 tickets each.

The Fairgrounds

The Fairgrounds are situated in a secluded cove, surrounded by towering cliffs and the calming waters of Kilima Lake.

Fairgrounds is an area accessed in the southeast corner of Kilima Valley, and is only accessible while special events are occurring.

During ongoing events, various carts, booths, and decorations will be present during the day, with vendors, activities, and shop registers accessible only in the evening and night hours. While these elements will change according to the type of event that is currently being held, there are several permanent structures that make up the fairgrounds.

Barn
A thatch-roof barn is located near the middle of the fairgrounds. Visitors will find a conveniently placed Wardrobe where they can change into an outfit befitting the current celebration. A Fast Travel board is directly in front of the barn. It provides quick and easy access to other locations throughout Palia, with those locations having the fairgrounds as a temporary travel location in return. There is also a Repair Station nearby.
Pavilion
Directly south of the barn is a large pavilion that houses the celebratory Maji Market drums that, when played properly, can herald an amazing fireworks display.
Gazebo
To the southeast, up on a grassy ridge is a small gazebo that overlooks the fairgrounds. It provides a perfect place to take a break from the festivities and offers a scenic view for photographs.
Wooden Dock
West of the pavilion and lining the lake's edge at the southern end of the cove is a large wooden dock, ideal for fishing. Further south there are a few floating platforms from which the main fireworks are released.

Lore

The market's name derives from Maji, the dragon god of the Majiri. It is said that Maji observes the celebrations from the comfort of his own realm. Some even believe he assumes different physical forms to partake in the events himself, to bless them with good fortune. That is why it is common for Maji Markets to carry items bearing his semblance. Perhaps seeing himself reflected in festive objects fills him with much Oneness. Einar
