- Kilima Lake
Kilima Lake is a location in Kilima Valley in Palia.
Description
Kilima Lake, also known as Crystal Lake, is a body of water that encompasses Kilima Valley – with the exception of the mountains to the north and north-east. Two rivers from the valley flow into the lake, and a part of it forms Fisherman's Lagoon. The lake's shoreline has a high content of clay minerals.
At Gillyfin Cove, there used to be a bridge across the lake that had collapsed before the Player's arrival. In addition to several smaller piers, the dilapidated Outer Docks, built above-water, are located in the south-west of Kilima Valley.
History
The Fishing Logs in Einar's Cave show, that the lake now known as Kilima Lake, was once commissioned by Mudan, an Ancient Human King and Einar's creator. Here, the King and Einar went fishing together and caught Gillyfins, Radiant Sunfish and Prism Trouts.
In his last fishing log, King Mudan wrote that he had pulled "nothing but monstrosities" from the waters. These monstrosities are likely connected to the "creatures from across the rift", which Aurus wrote about in his later records from the final period of the Ancient Humans.
It is not exactly clear what had happened to the lake and the fish living in it, but at some point, the lake must have recovered.
Location
Kilima Lake encircles the Kilima Valley from the north-west to the south-east. From the south-east of the valley, the lake is also accessible via the Fairgrounds.
