Description
The Emerald Ogopuu is the uncommon variant of the lizard-like creature that inhabits the bogs and shallow waters of Elderwood. It has a blunt face with a wide mouth, two large triangular fins behind its head and a couple of stubby horns above its eyes. Its long green body is ridged with green dorsal fins and ends in a flat striped tail fin. It also has short squat legs with webbed feet and a light, speckled underbelly.
Location
Emerald Ogopuus can be found around bogs and shallow waters in the Elderwood, specifically in:
Behavior
Ogopuus are notoriously known for their ability to spit slime. When at ease, the Ogopuu roams around slowly, occasionally pausing to lick its lips. However, when a Human gets too close or fires arrows nearby, the Ogopuu launches gobs of green, sticky slime at them, slowing anyone unfortunate enough to walk through it. Then it gallops away all fours, darting in multiple directions if it can. Finally, the Ogopuu rises up on its hind legs for one last sprint for nearby bodies of water or whirlpools. Then it dives into the water and disappears into the depths.
Hunting
Ogopuu slime can be countered by consuming a
Slime Potion, which nullifies its slowing effects. Like Chapaa, Emerald Ogopuus do not reappear once they dive into the water.
Emerald Ogopuus have (TBA) Health and require 6 hits with Fine Arrow or above to be felled.
Like Shmoles and Muujins, Emerald Ogopuus can be infected with Infected Essence, and require either Elderwood Arrows or the Bag of Illusion IV to hunt.
An infected Emerald Ogopuu will drop
16 - 20 Infected Essence when caught.
