Riffroc (Ranching)

Description

The quintissential mount for any Majiri. Riffrocs are reliable, sturdy, and rather proud creatures. Treat them with respect and they'll be a friend for life. — In-Game Description

How to Obtain

To unlock ranching, you must first complete the quest Like a Bird. Once you have earned your Glider, Delaila will arrive at your Housing Plot and gift you the recipe for the Barn Bell.

All Mounts in Palia may only be accessible for riding after completing Hassian's quest, Before the Dawn. This quest is given once the Player reaches the Royal Highlands, and is available to complete at any time, regardless of main story progression.

Riffrocs can be obtained after completing Nai'o's quests, Brood to Perfection and Cheese, Please!, which are only available after the player has reached Ranching Level 10. After discovering the Royal Highlands and meeting the level requirement, Nai'o will show up at your Ranch to talk to you about an issue with his Riffroc, Sugarfoot. Upon completion of the quests, the Player will have permanent access to purchasing, breeding, and riding Riffrocs.

Additional Riffrocs can be purchased from the Ranching Guild Store for 6,500 Gold

Note: If Nai'o is not showing up to your ranch after meeting the previous prerequisites, try re-entering the Royal Highlands, make sure you've not yet started or have completed the Prismbeard quests ( Adventure on the Horizon, Prismbeard's Lost Treasure, and The True Treasure), and ensure you have no other NPC visitors on your plot or ranch.

Produces

The Riffroc has the ability Bird of Prey. Once reaching age Young Adult or older, it will begin producing various hunting spoils and materials.

Unique Traits are traits that are exclusive to this creature or are found in only a select few creatures. These are usually traits that affect how your animal works or interacts with your ranch, and does not include cosmetic traits.

Cosmetic Traits

Cosmetic Traits are traits that affect your creature's appearance. These traits have no effect on the creature's productivity, aging, happiness, or lifespan. Ranching creatures can have up to 4 cosmetic traits, with one in each category of Color, Pattern, Sheen, and Visual Effect.

These traits also cannot be rerolled with a Reroll Cookie or removed with an Oopsie Cookie, making it safe to adjust other traits on the creature as you wish without removing their Visual Effect Trait.
