Biography
Sadeel is a figure remembered in myth and memory as a sorcerer. Originally a counselor and close confidant to the legendary King Mudan, Sadeel played a pivotal role in shaping Mudan’s reign. In historical records and some personal logs, Sadeel is described not merely as a villain, but as a philosopher, a pragmatist, and a friend whose warnings and influence helped shape critical choices during the late Cataclysm Era.
In myth such as The Epic of Mudan, Sadeel is cast as a jealous villain—scheming in the shadows, coveting Queen Kestra, and ultimately betraying Mudan in an attempt to gain power.
However, other sources, including the book Selections from Late Cataclysm Era Human Mythology and ancient voice logs, offer a different view. In one account, Sadeel warns Mudan that the “Shadow” that Mudan fears is not a separate force, but part of himself: the darkness within all beings.
One voice log suggests that Sadeel may have once shared Mudan’s vision for human and magical harmony, but came to believe—possibly through loss or bitter experience—that all things must eventually end.
One illegible book in the library of the Temple of the Waves states that his full name is Sadeel Xenarchus.
