Sernuk

Description

The Sernuk or Common Sernuk is a Deer-like creature with black eyes, a brown body, and white markings on its chest, belly, and face. Additionally, it is crowned with pair of simple, brown antlers.

From a distance, Common Sernuks are much lighter in color than Elder Sernuks, but still distinctly brown, unlike the Proudhorn Sernuk.

Location

Sernuk can be found commonly all around Kilima Valley and Bahari Bay. Their main spawn locations are: Mirror Fields, Leaf Hopper Hills, Whispering Banks, Pulsewater Plains.

On occasion Sernuks may be found outside of these locations after being chased by a Player.

Behavior

When left alone, Sernuks will be in an idle state. An idle Sernuk will walk and look around close to its spawning location, occasionally stopping to bend its head to eat grass, not actually affecting any foliage around the creature.

When a player enters a Sernuk's attention range, hits or barely misses it with a Hunting arrow, the Sernuk will enter its alarmed or chase state and begin running away from the threat.

In an alarmed state, a Sernuk will keep running, randomly changing direction in an attempt to avoid the threat. After a few seconds without detecting any threat, the Sernuk will return to its idling behavior state, though any damage it has received will remain intact.

Hunting

Sernuks have 15 Health and require two hits with Makeshift Arrows or one hit with a Standard Arrow or above to be felled.
