Lunar XP

Lunar XP is a game mechanic in Palia.

Mechanics

Lunar XP is a type of Experience used to progress Lunar Paths, a system that allows the player to unlock various rewards through natural gameplay. Each prize tier in a Lunar Path requires 10,000 Lunar XP to unlock.

How to Obtain

Lunar XP can be gained in several ways, with the simplest and most abundant being passive gameplay. Gaining Experience from Skills will grant a percentage of Lunar XP based on how much Skill XP you obtain. This means you can passively progress your Lunar Path as you play the game normally.

Lunar XP can also be obtained by completing Daily Quests and by completing the monthly Bulletin Board. Daily Quests give 5,000 Lunar XP per quest completed, so completing both daily quests will grant the player enough progress to claim one prize in their current active Lunar Path.

If the player does not have an activated Lunar Path, any Lunar XP accumulated will not go towards a Path, and it will not be reserved for any Path that is later activated after earning the Lunar XP.

Lunar XP Progress Bar

Lunar XP progress can be tracked by activating any Lunar Path and viewing the thin bar underneath your Focus bar, in the upper-left corner of your screen. Your Lunar XP bar will have two colors: A lighter one, and a more vibrant one. The vibrant color is your Lunar XP progress, and the lighter color underneath it is your Rest XP.

Rest XP

Rest XP does not directly contribute to your Lunar Path progress. Instead, it will give a temporary boost to your Lunar XP gain, providing a 10x multiplier to any Lunar XP gained from Skills until it is used up. This multiplier will not boost any Lunar XP gained as a quest reward.

Additional Rest XP is granted every new Palia day (or every real-life hour), and can be stacked for a maximum of 24 hours if it is not expended faster than it is gained. It will also continue to accumulate while the player is offline.

Rest XP is only expended if the player gains Skill XP. This means that any Lunar XP obtained from quest rewards will not use up any Rest XP.
