Description
The Highlands Sernuk is a deer-like creature, similar in appearance to the common Sernuk. However, unlike the common sernuk, the Highlands Sernuk has a dark grey body with an dull orange neck and head, adorned with dark stripes along the sides of its neck. It has a pair of simple antlers in dark brown.
From a distance, the Common Highlands Sernuk may be difficult to distinguish from the Golden Sernuk due to both having a very similar color palette. However, the Highlands Sernuk can be identified due to its coloration being somewhat more dull and its antlers less intricate than its Elder counterpart.
Location
Highlands Sernuks are found all over the Royal Highlands, and are a species of Sernuk exclusive to the region. Most commonly they're found in areas such as Royal Hunting Grounds, Old Fortuna, Steps of Renova, The Forum, Embra's Folly, Amber Lake, House of Nightshade, between the valleys of The Standing Cliffs, Lonely Glen, and Enfield Shores.
On occasion, Highlands Sernuks may be found outside of these areas after being chased by a player.
Behavior
Highlands Sernuks have similar idle behavior to common Sernuks. When idle, Highlands Sernuks can be seen wandering close to their spawn point and occasionally stopping to bend its head to eat grass, not actually affecting any foliage around the creature.
When a player enters a Highlands Sernuk's detection range, hits it with an arrow, or shoots and barely misses, the Highlands Sernuk will enter its alarmed or chase state and begin running away from the threat.
In an alarmed state, a Highlands Sernuk will keep running, randomly changing direction in an attempt to avoid the threat. After a few seconds without detecting any threat, the Highlands Sernuk will return to its idling behavior state, though it will retain any damage it received prior.
Hunting
Highlands Sernuks are much tougher than common Sernuks. They have a health pool of (Information Needed) and require three hits with
Fine Arrows to be felled.

Masked Variants
Like the Jaakcat, many Flow-Aspected Highlands Sernuks can be found within the Royal Highlands, donning masks imbued with elemental flow essence. These masks give the creature certain abilities that make hunting them more challenging.
All masked creatures will hold some form of flow-aspected shield around them, varying on placement depending on the element. These shields, if hit with an arrow, will stun the player and make tools unusable for a few seconds, unless the player is using a
Dispel Arrow.
If the player hits the shield, it will absorb the first hit, causing no damage to the creature, but dropping the shield. If the player hits around the shield before the creature notices, the masked creature will be stunned for a few seconds.
