Description
The Royal Sernuk is a deer-like creature, similar in appearance to the standard Proudhorned Sernuk. However, unlike the standard Proudhorned Sernuk, the Royal Sernuk has a deep indigo body, with a bright blue neck and head. It has multiple cyan stripes that line its face, neck, and some parts of its back, along with highly intricate horns that branch out in multiple directions.
The Royal Sernuk is most distinguishable from the other Highlands Sernuk variations, as it's the only one with blue and violet coloration, while the other two are grey and orange in color.
Location
Royal Sernuks are found rarely within the Royal Highlands, and are a species of Proudhorned Sernuk exclusive to the region. Most commonly they're found in areas such as Royal Hunting Grounds, Old Fortuna, Steps of Renova, The Forum, Embra's Folly, Amber Lake, House of Nightshade, between the valleys of The Standing Cliffs, Lonely Glen, and Enfield Shores.
On occasion, Royal Sernuks may be found outside of these areas after being chased by a player.
Behavior
Royal Sernuks have similar idle behavior to standard Proudhorned Sernuks. When idle, Royal Sernuks can be seen wandering close to their spawn point and occasionally stopping to bend its head to eat grass, not actually affecting any foliage around the creature.
The Royal Sernuk has the same fleeing ability as the standard Proudhorned Sernuk, being that when it is threatened, it will magically disappear and teleport a short distance away, allowing it to gain much distance from the player. However, it is possible to disable this ability for a short time if the player hits the creature with a
Dispel Arrow before it notices.
It is possible to tell how long the dispel effect will last before the Proudhorned regains its ability to teleport, as it lets out an audio cue that steadily gets louder until the dispel effect wears off. Once this happens, the Royal Sernuk will teleport away at least one time.
When this ability is disabled, after being hit, a Royal Sernuk will begin running, randomly changing direction in an attempt to avoid the threat. After a few seconds without detecting any threat, the Royal Sernuk will return to its idling behavior state, though it will retain any damage it received prior.
Hunting
Royal Sernuks are much tougher than standard Proudhorned Sernuks. They have a health pool of (Unknown) and require eight hits with
Fine Arrows or
Dispel Arrows to be felled.

Masked Variants
Like the Jaakcat, many Flow-Aspected Highlands Sernuks can be found within the Royal Highlands, donning masks imbued with elemental flow essence. These masks give the creature certain abilities that make hunting them more challenging.
All masked creatures will hold some form of flow-aspected shield around them, varying on placement depending on the element. These shields, if hit with an arrow, will stun the player and make bows unusable for a few seconds, unless the player is using a
Dispel Arrow.
If the player hits the shield, it will absorb the first hit, causing no damage to the creature, but dropping the shield. If the player hits around the shield before the creature notices, the masked creature will be stunned for a few seconds.
