Shmole

Description

The Shmole is the common variant of the mushroom-like creature that burrows in the caves and rocks of the Elderwood. It has a wide red cap with small purple eyes and feathery eyebrows on top. Underneath, it sports cream-colored underside and thin, stem-like body with arms that flare at the wrist.

Location

Shmoles can be found in Elderwood caves, specifically in:

• Red Blossom Cave
• Lilac Cavern
• Vieuxport Sea

Behavior

Shmoles live communally in in vast networks of tunnels called Shmole Holes. These openings are marked by mounds of dirt and can be found on the ground, walls, or even ceilings of caves or rocks. Shmole have no issue hanging upside down from the roof of a cavern.

Shmoles never leave their tunnels. When at ease, Shmoles peacefully idle above ground, swaying back and forth in spot and occasionally letting out a deep clicking grunt. However, when startled by Players or crossfire from Arrows or Smoke Bombs, they dive into the tunnels for safety and emerge from a different hole a moment later.

Hunting

Shmoles have ? Health and require ? hits with a Fine Arrow or above to be felled.

Like Muujins and Ogopuus, Shmoles can be infected with Infected Essence, and require either Elderwood Arrows or the Bag of Illusion IV to hunt.

An infected Shmole will drop 5 - 7 Infected Essence when caught.
