How to get a Dawnspur

1. 1Finish “Like a Bird”

   To unlock ranching, you must first complete the quest Like a Bird. Once you have earned your Glider, Delaila will arrive at your Housing Plot and gift you the recipe for the Barn Bell.

   All ridable mounts in Palia may only be accessible for riding after completing Hassian's side quest, Before the Dawn. This quest is given once The Player reaches the Royal Highlands, and is available to complete at any time, regardless of main story progression.

3. 3Finish “Before the Dawn”

   Upon completion of the quest Before the Dawn, the player will be awarded with one Dawnspur of their own and the ability to ride Dawnspur mounts.

4. 4Buy it at the register

   Once unlocked, additional Dawnspurs may be purchased from the Ranching Guild store for 5000 gold.

Rule — Animals at the Baby or Venerated Age do not produce items or breed. Adult animals will produce specific items based on the species, each with a limit on how many they can carry. Item production is affected by the animals overall happiness as well as how many of the same species you have. If you’re over the species cap, it will slow down production of items. Production, happiness and focus are explained in the Ranching guide.

All Dawnspurs, once reaching Young Adult or further in age, will begin producing various fertilizers. This includes WeedBlock Fertilizer, HydratePro Fertilizer, SpeedyGro Fertilizer, HarvestBoost Fertilizer, and QualityUp Fertilizer.

While the Dawnspur produces the same items as the Akwinduu Thoroughbred, the Dawnspur makes them in higher quantity, but lower quality.

Dawnspurs can have a variety of traits that influence their happiness, focus, production speed, lifespan, and riding traits exclusive to ridable mounts. Traits can be inherited through breeding or discovered when purchasing new Dawnspurs.
