The Akwinduu Thoroughbred emerged from extinction alongside Humanity across the sea in the Akwinduu Province, where they were readily adopted by royalty as an alternative to the riffroc.

- In-Game Description

Akwinduu Thoroughbreds are a breed of horse inspired by the Arabian. The default Akwinduu Thoroughbred has deep reddish-brown fur and a black mane and tail, but is available in many other colors, patterns, and effects through the Ranching skill.

The Akwinduu Thoroughbred can be unlocked for free to be used on the Player's Ranch by completing the accomplishment A Horse of a Different Color, which requires the Player to discover 30 different horse traits.

In order to use the Akwinduu Thoroughbred as a mount, the purchase of an Akwinduu Thoroughbred Riding License is required. At this time, this riding license is only attainable via purchase of either the Highlands Supporter Pack, or the Royal Highlands Supporter Pack, which can be found in the Premium Store for real-world currency. If one of these packs is purchased, the Player will unlock immediate purchase of additional Akwinduu Thoroughbreds without needing to complete the associated Accomplishment.

Additional Akwinduu Thoroughbreds can be purchased for 6,000 Gold in the Ranching Guild Store.

The Dawnspur were bred for riding by Ancient Human nobility. They have recently returned from supposed extinction, and are now found roaming the Royal Highlands.

- In-Game Description

Dawnspurs are a breed of horse inspired by the American Quarterhorse. The default Dawnspur sports a pale cream coat and a stark white mane and tail, but is available in many other colors, patterns, and effects through the Ranching skill.

All players will receive one Dawnspur for free through natural gameplay progression. Soon after the Player enters the Royal Highlands region, they will receive a quest from Hassian titled Before the Dawn, which can be completed regardless of main quest progression. Once completed, the Player will receive one Dawnspur in their Ranch, available for immediate use as a mount.

Additional Dawnspurs can be purchased for 5,000 Gold in the Ranching Guild Store.

A special Dawnspur blessed by the Phoenix herself. Much rarer than their extinguished cousins, it is said to see a Phoenixfire Dawnspur in the wild is a good omen.

Phoenixfire Dawnspurs are a unique and rare form of Dawnspur. It boasts dark fur and bright orange flames for a mane and tail, but is available in many other colors, patterns, and effects through the Ranching skill.

The Phoenixfire Dawnspur can be unlocked for free to use on the Player's Ranch by completing all of Binnie's discovery quests in the Royal Highlands.

In order to use the Phoenixfire Dawnspur as a mount, the purchase of a Phoenixfire Dawnspur Riding License is required. This riding license is attainable from the Premium Store for 2,550 Palia Coins. If this license is purchased, the Player will unlock immediate purchase of additional Phoenixfire Dawnspurs from the Ranching Guild Store without needing to complete the associated Accomplishment.

Additional Phoenixfire Dawnspurs can be purchased for 10,000 Gold in the Ranching Guild Store.

Phoenixfire Riffrocs are exceedingly rare, and hardly exist in the wild. However, their population is maintained by a number of Majiri specialists out of deference for their resemblance to the Phoenix.

- In-Game Description

Phoenixfire Riffrocs are a unique and exceptionally rare form of Riffroc. It has similar characteristics of the Riffroc, that being the bird-like head and horse-like body, but with the unique appearance of flames flowing down its feathers. Its standard variation has a bright orange body with red feathers, but is available in many other colors, patterns, and effects through the Ranching skill.

The Phoenixfire Riffroc can be obtained on the Player's Ranch by successfully breeding a Riffroc and Phoenixfire Dawnspur that both have the Open-Minded trait.

In order to use the Phoenixfire Riffroc as a mount, the purchase of a Phoenixfire Riffroc Riding License is required. This riding license is attainable from the Premium Store for 2,550 Palia Coins. If this license is purchased, the Player will unlock immediate purchase of additional Phoenixfire Riffrocs from the Ranching Guild Store without needing to meet the breeding requirements.

The quintissential mount for any Majiri. Riffrocs are reliable, sturdy, and rather proud creatures. Treat them with respect and they'll be a friend for life.

- In-Game Description

Riffrocs are a horse-like creature, used as a way of faster travel for both farmhands and royalty alike. It has a body similar to a horse, but with the head and feathers of a bird. The default Riffroc is a bright orange hue with vivid red and yellow patterns, but they are available in many other colors, patterns, and effects through the Ranching skill.

The Riffroc can be unlocked for free by reaching Ranching Level 10 and completing two quests from Nai'o. After completing both quests, the Player will receive one free voucher for a Riffroc and will unlock the ability to purchase and breed more Riffrocs in their Ranch.

Additional Riffrocs can be purchased for 6,500 Gold in the Ranching Guild Store.

Once thought to be purely mythological, Valhasts are highly sought after mounts due to their particularly light step, superior agility, and characteristically flowing manes.

- In-Game Description

Valhästs are a breed of horse once believed to be a myth, now available for Palians to ride and ranch at home! The Valhäst has a very regal appearance, having stark white fur with blue watercolor-like splotches, and delicately braided blonde manes. They have unique small wing-like appendages on their head and legs, and don a dainty crown with a glowing gemstone in the center. However, Valhästs can be found in many other colors, patterns, and effects through the Ranching skill.

In order to use the Valhäst as a mount, purchase of a Valhäst Riding License for 2,550 Palia Coins in the Premium Store is required.

The Valhäst was first mentioned in S6's official announcement when their event, The Long Ride, began. One of the prizes for completing all goals was to allow the community to vote on a coat pattern for the Valhäst, which took place on the official Palia discord server from June 3rd 2026 to June 10th 2026. The results showed that the winning vote was coat option number 4 (pictured above).
